Presented by Perth International Cabaret Festival. Supported by the Arts and Culture Trust
Due to popular demand this opportunity to learn to sing in Noongar from Gina and Guy’s catalogue of contemporary songs in Noongar language, returns in 2023!
Multi-award winning duo Gina Williams AM and Guy Ghouse invite you to join them to learn a welcome song, a counting song and a nursery rhyme in Noongar, and hear about the four principles of Koort (heart), Moort (family/community), Boodja (land) and Koorlangka (children/legacy), and discuss their meaning to us individually and as a community.
Spend an engaging and heart-warming 90 minutes with the cabaret festival's patrons, Gina and Guy, who capture the natural rhythms of the Noongar language, the traditional language of the South-Western region of WA, which is spoken by fewer than 400 people. No singing experience required and all ages and abilities are welcome.
