Tessie Overmyer is a rising star in the Sydney jazz scene.
A fiery young saxophonist with a maturity of playing well beyond her years. Tessie will be featured with the WAYJO Wednesday Night Orchestra playing music from the late great big band composer and band leader Thad Jones, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of his birth. Thad's music combines the swingin' foot tappin' sensibility of the Count Basie band with the style and harmonic sophistication of Duke Ellington.
A night of underground big band excitement - just like a night in New York's Village Vanguard.
