Architect of the Invisible is an epic new work that investigates what drives a person to push beyond their perceived physical limits to accomplish the remarkable.
Raewyn Hill draws on Dante’s Divine Comedy in creating a parallel series of movements representing each of the 101 cantos and reflective of plate illustrations depicting scenes from Inferno, Purgatory and Paradise. Dante was the first Western writer to depict human beings, along this journey through a specific time, place and circumstance.
The narrative, inspired by this iconic literary text, is inextricably tied to the concept of an infinite journey. Raewyn explores the distinction between physical and psychological endurance in the struggle to keep moving forward despite all odds. A disarming and delicate interplay between the mind and body. The greatest feats of survival speak equally to the persistence and durability of the human spirit and the courage of those forced to undergo extraordinary trials.
Raewyn Hill and Co3 Dancers will be joined by students from LINK Dance Company in this world premiere new mainstage work. This is an exciting collaboration with Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) in the long-standing association between Co3 Contemporary Dance and LINK Dance Company.
