ACT WA releases inaugural Impact Report

Arts and Culture Trust (ACT WA) has released its first Impact Report, providing valuable insight into how audiences experience our venues and the role they play in connecting communities across Western Australia.

The report draws on feedback from 3,977 survey responses collected between May 2025 and May 2026.

The findings demonstrate strong levels of audience satisfaction across ACT WA venues, with:

  • 97% of respondents agreeing they enjoyed the atmosphere at an ACT WA venue.
  • 94% agreeing they found it easy to get to and from the venue.
  • 80% reporting they were very satisfied with their overall experience.
  • 81% indicating they would be very likely to return for another event or activity.

The report examines audience experiences across ACT WA-managed venues, including His Majesty's Theatre, State Theatre Centre of WA, Subiaco Arts Centre, Albany Entertainment Centre and the Perth Cultural Centre.

Audience feedback highlighted the importance of atmosphere, accessibility and safety in creating positive visitor experiences. Across all measured dimensions, more than 94% of respondents agreed positively with their experience, reflecting the continued efforts of venue teams to provide welcoming and accessible spaces for audiences.

The report also reinforces ACT WA's reach beyond the metropolitan area, with 21% of respondents identifying as regional Western Australian residents.

Beyond measuring satisfaction, the report captured valuable audience insights on attendance habits and programming preferences. Plays and drama, live music, musicals and comedy emerged as the most requested types of performances, while many respondents also shared positive feedback about venue staff, facilities, atmosphere and customer service.

As the first report of its kind for ACT WA, the findings provide an important baseline for understanding audience experience and will help inform future planning, and decision-making across the organisation.
