The Great Southern Primary Schools Music Festival is an opportunity for all children from government and non-government schools to shine in a fun, friendly and fabulous festival!
For over 30 years, the Great Southern Primary Schools Music Festival has brought together students from both government and private schools across Albany and its surrounding towns. This annual event is organized entirely by volunteer music specialists from the participating schools.
The children present a variety of musical genres, from dance to choral singing, instrument playing and musical theatre. The occasion is a chance for the children to gain a feel for performing on the big stage in a professional setting with all the ‘bells and whistles’. There is much excitement during the day rehearsals, culminating in their big performance at night.
This is not a competition, and the children get the chance to showcase the skills they have developed from their school’s music programs.
