About Us

Are you Subiaco Arts Centre's next Artist in Residence?

"Having access to a space like this is so rare… having a dedicated place to come to every day has been awesome — the facilities are incredible.”
– Leah Robyn (2024 recipient)

The Arts and Culture Trust Artist in Residence Program supports Western Australian artists and theatre-makers - both metro and regional - by providing access to rehearsal and performance spaces.

The program offers technical, marketing, ticketing, audience development, and Front of House support, helping artists develop and present their work in a professional setting.

What are we looking for

We are seeking projects that challenge audiences, bring people together, and contribute meaningfully to the evolving performing arts landscape in Western Australia.

We welcome EOIs from individual artists, collectives, and independent companies developing ambitious and innovative creative works. As the sector continues to evolve in 2026, we are particularly interested in projects that respond to contemporary practice and engage audiences in new and compelling ways. This may include works that:

  • Explore fresh and inventive approaches to storytelling
  • Integrate technology, digital elements, or multimedia in creative ways
  • Blur genre boundaries or push artistic conventions
  • Reflect the diversity and dynamism of Western Australia’s performing arts community
  • Create shared experiences that create connection, conversation, and cultural exchange
