Two new members appointed to Arts and Culture Trust of WA Board
The Arts and Culture Trust (ACT) Board Chair, Morgan Solomon has welcomed incoming board members Ashok Desai and Tim Urquhart to the ACT Board for a four-year tenure.
The ACT Board oversees some of the State’s most significant arts and cultural assets and applies a State-wide lens to shape and support Western Australia’s creative economy through venue and facility optimisation, space and place activation and a wide range of activities related to cultural infrastructure stewardship.
Ashok is an equities advisor with more than three decades of experience in investment advisory, audit and accounting roles.
“He is experienced in corporate transactions and capital raisings in emerging companies and can advise on a variety of financial and operational risks across a broad range of industries,” Mr Solomon said.
Tim is a property executive with more than 35 years of experience internationally, in complex property development and infrastructure.
“Tim is currently the Executive Director of Properties, Facilities and Development at Curtin University,” Mr Solomon said.
“He was involved in the development of the 2012 Olympic Athletes Village, a $2.5B portfolio of build form and infrastructure projects.”
Ashok and Tim replace Nadia van Dommelen and Michelle Tremain on the Board.
Morgan Solomon has extended his role as Chairperson until the end of 2026. Morgan has been Chairperson of the Board since 2016 when ACT was known as Perth Theatre Trust.
The ACT Board also includes Kylie Groves, Zoë Atkinson, Robert Taylor, Lisa Montgomery, Melvin Yeo and Veronica Jefferey.
